Now you see it, soon you won’t

Ferndale's Justice
On my way to Java Hutt today, I passed the district court building in Ferndale. It’s undergoing renovation, and in the process it looks like it’ll lose this painting of blind justice that’s been on the side of the building for as long as I’ve seen it. Well, it won’t lose the painting; it looks like it will be covered up by a new wall of cinder blocks. In a few decades, maybe it’ll be uncovered to everyone’s surprise. Anyway, here’s something to remember it by.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

I love that photo! Very poetic – the scales of justice are in the dumpster-just as they are in real life.

May I reblog it in Tumblr?
