In 2013, I resolve to:

1. Develop a machine that humanely transforms boring but abundant birds (house sparrows, starlings) into interesting birds (song sparrows, wood thrushes).

2. Learn to Tweet in 130 characters, since brevity is the soul of wit (if Lord Polonius is to be believed) and I need all the help I can get.

3. Find a new use for most of the presets on my car’s AM radio, since therre are only four good stations and I have ten presets. Am considering sub-leasing.

4. Just drop in to see what condition my condition is in.

5. Undertake research to find out just why the hell the LP, of all things, has had a resurgence in the 21st century.

6. Release a heavy metal tribute to the music of Tiny Tim.

7. Evolve self-clipping fingernails.

8. Refine and perfect the fine art of the nap, possibly publishing how-to videos.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

  1. I am certain that Robin will pay for #1 when it goes into production.

I think the Audubon Society might be a little conflicted, but the members might be very happy. We could include pigeons; turn them into cuckoos or magpies or something like that.

Glad you were able to make it, Charlie – hope it wasn’t too crazy in the lobby for you this time..! šŸ™‚
