Dashing through the store…

I wrote this at jjfmi‘s open mic in Farmington Hills in December of last year, but couldn’t do anything with it before Christmas. So I decided to do it this year. It’s socio-economic commentary on the importance of this time of year, set to a familiar tune. Cynical, me? Nah.

Edited to add: I posted the lyrics last year.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

    Good 1 — music, 2 — song, 3 — commentary!

LOL! Perfect! (This actually works right up through Dec. 24 – how did I miss this one last year?)

I wrote it on the 19th — I think I showed it to you, but you were busy, of course. And then I was crazily trying to get everything done before the 25th so it went on the back burner for a few months.
