A quiz! Remember when we used to do these?

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Midland

“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

Yes, I do remember quizzes … and with a kind of fond, wistful nostalgia. Thank you, , for posting this.

Apparently I also have a Midland accent. As cool as that would be, I call shenanigans!

Either that, or you’re actually from the quaint Finnish town known as Bloomington, Indiana.

My friend Dave, who’s from a bit farther south than Bloomington, somehow got the result of Inland North. In short, he and I have somehow swapped accents. It’s most … puzzling.
