National Poetry Month comes back around

April National Poetry Month in the U.S. and Canada (the U.K. has it in October). It only took me till the 9th to remember it, so I’m doing pretty well this year. I don’t have anything much to add yet. Poets.org’s site for National Poetry Day has a lot of relevant features, including a state-by-state guide to events. It doesn’t seem to include events from Springfed Arts locally, so there’s that link. (I don’t see anything specifically NPM-related at Springfed’s website, but there are events in April.)

On a less grand scale, here’s a link to my posts tagged “poetry”. I last posted a poem and a link to a poem in January of this year. Maybe I will get up the courage to post another poem of mine. I might even update my haiku archive. So if you ever wanted warning that you should unfollow me encouragement to keep reading, there ya go.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
