Whose job is it to destroy jobs, anyway?

Speaking of the Occupy Wall Street protesters, Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York City, “claimed they were targeting the nation’s financial sector and ‘trying to destroy the jobs of working people’ .”

This brings to mind a bumper sticker I snicker at but don’t really like: “Don’t Steal — The Government Hates the Competition.” By this, I mean to imply that Bloomberg doesn’t want anyone destroying the jobs of working people except wealthy corporation owners and managers.

Sorry, I’m just cynical sometimes.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
