How’s this for a gamut: My mom has had four doctor appointments in five business days through yesterday, and she has medical tests tomorrow too. Fortunately, two of the appointments were routine, and a third was with her heart surgeon who released her from his care, No more appointments with him, yay! (Though he is a nice enough guy.) This run is just a quirk of scheduling, really, but it reminds me of how crazy stuff was last year.
It has been stupid-hot this week (90s F/low 30s C), but a front went through this morning so it’ll get back to more seasonal temperatures (70s F/low 20s C).
Speaking of stupid, I guess the Republican presidential campaign is in full swing now. Sigh.
Our senior Louisville correspondent reports that reconstruction of the giant Jesus statue alongside I-75 north of Cincinnati has commenced. (The Middletown Journal has a more detailed article, with photos.) The original was struck by lightning last year and burned utterly. They’re adding a lightning-suppression system this time. Apparently they’re not taking out the added idolatry, though, as it will be 51 feet tall and probably as dominant in the landscape as before.
