I know someone who was on Ellen!

Detroit area singer/songwriter Meghan Tonjes is someone I used to see at Trixie’s Coffee, and I always appreciated her talent as a singer and writer. She has established a significant Internet presence through YouTube, and that landed her on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Jan. 18. Here’s the link to the video on Ellen’s site: http://ellen.warnerbros.com/2011/01/an_incredible_youtube_sensation_0118.php

I’m not saying I know her at all well, but this is still the closest to stardom anyone I’ve ever met has gotten. Way cool for her!

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

It is. I haven’t seen her out and about in a while, due partly to me not going out and about much, so to go from seeing her in the coffee house to seeing her on national TV is very cool.

    Now that’s pretty nice!
