Writer’s Block: Ready for my close-up

Remember in the 1990’s show Northern Exposure, when scenes took place at The Brick (Holling Vincoeur’s bar/restaurant), the extras were often these big, burly guys in flannel with beards and sometimes long hair? Lumberjacks and other wilderness sorts, y’know? I could’ve done that role. It wouldn’t be a speaking part, but that’s OK, since I’ve kind of given up any theatrical aspirations (since, like, 1979).

What do you mean, that’s typecasting?

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
