There’s Gotta Be a Road video

Here’s a video for my song “There’s Gotta Be a Road”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOvVtTjyjAo
I used to have it embedded here, but some users were having trouble with it, specifically that there might’ve been an Internet worm somehow infecting it. It seems OK if you’re viewing the video directly there.

This is the first video I’ve made using an actual video camera I recently acquired. (Before that I was using the video function of my Canon PowerShot A620, which is more workable than you might think but not ideal.) This was shot on Tuesday night at AJ’s Cafe’s open mic night, which jjfmi hosts. If you listen, you’ll hear him singing harmonies on the choruses. Next time, I’m giving him a mic. Or, actually, asking him to give himself one. Something.

I had a few challenges, but it was mostly an experiment to see whether it would work out at all—I think it did that. Next I tweak the method to make it work better.

No, my head did not suddenly become flat on top. I didn’t reckon how dark the overall scene would be, and I wore my spiffy black hat.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
