I set up a Facebook profile, mostly out of curiosity. I’m not sure about it yet, but I guess it’s all up to what I make of it. Something that I’m not crazy about is that there’s no way for a non-member to see anyone’s profile without joining. But it seems a bit less crazed than MySpace, and that’s a good thing. Anyway, if you want to find me on Facebook, search for my LJ address.
The other experiment involved Google’s portal iGoogle. I discovered it over the weekend when Dave and I were trying to resolve some issues with MyYahoo. It’s still new to me, but I already like how customizable iGoogle is and how well it works with things like GMail and Google Reader, two other applications I like a lot. Given how little I appreciate Yahoo these days (did you know they revamped Yahoo Profile? Did you notice how much data was just trashed in that makeover?), I might start using iGoogle a lot more instead of MyYahoo.
