My 1,014th post!

I just renewed my LJ paid account, and as I popped into my profile to see what the new expiry date is, I discovered that I not only have made 1,000 posts, I missed when I hit that milestone. For the record, the 1,000th post was on June 9th, 2008, “A couple of political statements.” Also for the record, I tend to miss other people’s birthdays too.

I’m supposed to be driving up north tomorrow. And I’m not packed yet. All together now: Eek! Well, I am partly packed—All the groceries I bought tonight were left in the car, as none of it needed refrigeration. Now all I need to do is load the camping gear, and figure out how I’m going to pack a week’s worth of clothes in a too-small duffel bag, and try to remember to buy ice and shampoo on the way out. I’m sure I’ll be fine once I’m driving. I just have to wake up and remember stuff before I’ve had coffee, that’s the challenge.

There might be a post on Monday or Tuesday, depending on how much of an Internet withdrawal I’m going through whether I can find an Internet connection up north. They have Internet up there, no, really they do. Just not at Blissfest itself, because there’s no electricity except on the stage.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
