On Saturday I got the latest Death Cab for Cutie CD, Narrow Stairs. It’s recognizably them, but has quite a bit more edge and a little more of a dark side to it than their last one, Plans. Maybe that makes Narrow Stairs more like their earlier albums; I’m trying to remember if I read that somewhere. Anyway, I like it; it makes a nice contrast with Plans. It’s good to see they didn’t just try to make Plans, Part Two. If you like DCfC, you’ll probably like this a bunch.
I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.
