Ladies and Gentlemen… THE DOORS!

No, not Mr. Morrison et al.

I got my new doors today. Well, for the house, not for me. They were supposed to come when the windows did, but there had been a manufacturing problem. (Although it was sunny and kind of warm today, so the installers did all right in the end—there was a snowstorm on window day.) They’re very sturdy doors, with a nice tight seal, and they make things look so much better. Although now I really need to paint the living room; it’s looking pretty shabby compared to the doors and windows.

The installers were here and gone in about two and a half hours. I started out working at home, thinking I would go to the office when they were done. But then I decided since I was all set up, why pack it all up and drive to work? I got more done staying home than I usually do. And I saved two gallons of gas, which these days ain’t chicken feed.

About songdogmi

I'm a longhaired almost-hippie stuck in the inner suburbs of a major rust-belt metropolis who's thoughtful, creative, and kind of geeky. In exchange for a paycheck I run around in a cubicle maze most days. When I escape, I play music, hang out in coffee houses, dink around on the computer, take naps, and think I should be off in the woods somewhere. Every once in a while I get in my car and drive far, far away, though I've always come back so far.

Were they French doors? If so, Jim could still make an appearance, y’know…
